Subversive Sweaters (2011-2012)

Garments hold a subtle, yet powerful, influence over us.  We wear them all the time, at times not paying them any attention, and at others, focusing on them as the sole representation of ourselves. We believe that through them, we can control ourselves, control the way others see us by what we wear, but just as easily, clothes can wear us. My sweaters take this control to an absurdist end. They change the way their wearers carry themselves, the way they interact with others, and the way they participate in daily tasks.  The acknowledgment of this power is physically forced through their design.
